I have lost a handful of dear ones to death including my father, grandfather, cousin, aunty, friend and a friend’s brother. Each time this happen I can’t help but wonder ‘WHY?’

None of the religious books including the Bible promised a life here on earth free of pain, difficulty or loss. Christians are not exempt from struggle, heartache, or disappointment in this world.

This made me to wonder ‘what then is our hope?

But then, just like apostle John; “I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, ‘Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, God himself will be with them and be their God.

And God will wipe away every tears from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away’

Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold I make all things new’. And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful’”.

So I have written.

The Race Marked Out…

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance THE RACE marked out for us” Heb. 12:1.

You are on a race. You have a particular race that God has set before you to run. It is your mission. It is an assignment….a calling from higher quarters. God has a mission for each and every one of us. You are not just living but there is a reason for your being alive. That reason is your mission, your race, your purpose, your assignment. Hence an end comes to meaningless living. Unfortunately, many still live a miserable life of constant failure and strife because their lives are out of focus to the purpose and plans of God.

Purpose does not mean all your life issues are settled but it means there would be peace.

How? You may ask but believe me, when you get into your mission, it gives you fulfilment, joy and strength beyond the challenges that you go through everyday. The challenges of single hood, divorce, barrenness, etc

When the disciples of Jesus found him at the well with the Samaritan woman, they wondered who gave him food to eat before they left him because on their return, he told them he had eaten, when asked what he ate, he said to them “….my food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work…” Jh 4:34.

Truly, Jesus had not eaten any physical food, which is a challenge on its own but fulfilling his mission, going about his assignment at that time was enough to satisfy or make him temporarily forget his hunger.

Fulfiling your assignment is a bridge to your happiness.

You are created to solve a problem. You are not a nobody. You are not a biological mistake. You are created for a purpose

You are an answer to something or someone, listen to this, no matter what anyone or any man, fellow women, your parents, your man, your children said to you, this is what God has to say…God is saying “….before I formed thee in the belly, I knew you and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations,” Jer 1:4, 5

You might not be able to grasp the whole purpose or assignment of God for your life yet; you might even know it but yet can not figure out how to go about it or how it can ever be a reality.

For now, you do not need to bother yourself – all that matters is for you to know you are on a mission, discover it, and leave God to fulfil his plans in your life, while you run the race.

On your mark, GET SET…

On That Night…

On that night, I had woken up in a pool of my sweat. For a staggering moment, I was lost…wondering where I was as I drift slowly to wakefulness. The intensity of the light from the bulb on my eyes forced my memory to align as I climb off my bed to write down my dream or will I call it vision.. the sixth of its kind, in a series of days.

Today, I again saw people running for their lives and safety, I saw people running and falling I saw different sides of an army firing and shooting at each other and I saw armed men using children and others as body shield. I screamed and asked for them to fight their wars by themselves and stop hurting others but they just ignored me.

Then I heard a voice, someone stood by me and ask why are you shouting? I asked if he couldn’t see the wickedness and pain everywhere. He replied that my shout will not stop it neither would my cry help but I could be useful instead.

I asked, how?

He asked me to follow him and he lead me to a river with a big tree full of green leaves by its side. I looked on as He took one of the victims on the ground, washed his wounds in the river and then plucked some leaves mashed it and placed it on the wound, immediately it was healed.

He then looked at me and said ‘Go, lead the wounded to the healing stream, where their wounds will be washed and healed’.

That night was 14 years ago!

Today, over the years I had helped lead several wounded marriages, wounded sexualities, wounded personalities, wounded esteems, wounded hearts, wounded men, wounded women, wounded….(name it) to the healing stream and I had seen several return rejoicing!

The world might have wounded you, but be assured there is healing here for you!

You can be healed!
